Montreal -- Indians designated hitter Nick Swisher seen Derek Jeter's final home game with the Yankees from start to finish with Thursday night. When Jeter provided a walk-off hit in his ultimate at-bat in pinstripes, Swisher felt it was the perfect conclusion to an awesome career.

'I don't know any other approach Her could've ended the career other than that,' stated Swisher, who was teammates with Jeter in Ny from 2009-12. 'You can't script which, man. I think the biggest thing individuals need to understand is things like which do not happen.

'They only happen to others, and he's one of those persons. He's a god. Her is an absolute god.'

'It was not surprising,' Giambi said. 'His entire career has been storybook. I've told people I'm more stunned that they didn't make the 2009-2010 nfl season and win the World Series, with him hitting some sort of walk-off in Game 7 to be able to win it. That's your pet. That's his career. That may be who Her is. It's extraordinary to watch. He's a special individual.'

Indians manager Terry Francona saw plenty of Jeter during his days as manager of the Red Sox (2004-11), but his beloved personal memory of the shortstop will come before all the heroics in the Key Leagues. Francona also managed towards Jeter in 1994 in the Arizona Fall League -- two years prior to shortstop played his first complete season with the Yankees.

Jeter created a jaw-dropping defensive play that taken aback Francona.

'He went to his right, slid on the ball,' Francona said. '[It was] not jumping one he's sort of known for. Her slid and used from his butt. ... Going sitting there thinking '[Dang], this baby, that was one [heck] of perform.' I just saw it a couple of years ahead of everybody else. I'll always bear in mind that, because that was so athletic. 'I think it's great. I think it really is fabulous. I'm a big fan,In . said first-year Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon of the Seahawks before the game. 'I had time to go out to a practice in addition to talk with coach [Carroll]. I thought that's outstanding. I love their strength. I love what they're doing. With luck ,, that'll rub off on us a little bit.'

That is the hope for a Pirates and priests that followed up a 4-2 excursion to begin the season with a 5-3 conquer the Angels on Tuesday night.
